I am posting this just because. I really love this dude's work. It is so incredible and I'm sure takes a lot of patience.

Arms and legs are looking good!
I attached the arms and will continue making them more realistic. I also made the legs more realistic, especially adding more paper around where the two bones would be connected.

Connected the legs.
This looks kind of stupid now, but I'm going to make where the two parts were connected look like a real joint. I really want to make this skeleton look as realistic as I can.

Made the legs for my skeleton
I started making legs for my skeleton. I also put the shoulders on it, but I forgot to take a picture. Hopefully I can get the arms, hands, feet, and pelvis on the skeleton so I can start paper mâchéing asap.

Quick Assignment 11/6/13
For this quick assignment, we had to pick one out of 40 sculptures to write about. I really like number 13. Charles La Trobe Statue in Melbourne, Australia. The artist is Charles Robb. I like this statue because it's comical, but it means so much to me. I would say that it means that we (as a human race) should see the world in different perspectives. I would love to see this in person, because all art is just more amazing somehow in person. This statue was just temporary installation and had been moved to LaTobe University in June 2006.

Progress on skull- from Monday AND today
This first picture is how I did on Monday. I just did another layer of paper mâché. Looking pretty good to me so far. |
These three pictures are of my progress today. I am adding onto the back of my skull to make it more realistic. I am also going to make the eyes more realistic, by shaping the sockets, and then cut the hole where the nose is, and hopefully make the teeth as well. I made the spine and the shoulders out of cardboard and masking tape. After I get the ribs and pelvis (maybe the legs too) I will paper mâché each section, connect them ll together, then paper mâché again. Then go on to do the painting and accessories onto my skeleton.

I added another layer of paper mâché to my skull. I forgot to get a picture. But as soon as I get to school tomorrow, I will take a picture before I continue with more progress.
